Website Terms of Use and
Disclaimer
Version 2.0 · 1 October 2026
These terms govern your use of this website. Please read them, particularly clause 3, which
explains the limits of what this website can do, and clause 4, which sets out where to get help
urgently.

2. Acceptance of these terms
2.1 By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2.2 We may amend these terms. The current version, with its effective date, is always the one published
on this page.
3. This website does not provide psychological advice or
treatment
3.1 The content of this website is general information about psychological difficulties and about the
services this practice offers. It is not psychological, medical or any other professional advice, and
it is not treatment.
3.2 Nothing on this website constitutes an assessment or diagnosis of you or of anyone else.
Psychological difficulties present differently in different people, and no general description can
substitute for an individual consultation.
3.3 Reading this website, sending an enquiry, submitting a booking request or corresponding with the
practice by email does not create a practitioner–patient relationship. That relationship begins only
once an appointment has taken place and the practice’s Service Agreement and Informed
Consent has been accepted.
3.4 Please do not delay seeking professional help, and do not disregard advice you have already received
from a health practitioner, on the basis of anything you have read here.
3.5 Any decision you make in reliance on the general content of this website is your own. Clause 10
explains the limits of our liability in that respect — and, importantly, what it does not limit.
4. If you need help urgently
This website is not monitored continuously and is not a route to emergency help. If you are in
immediate danger, or you are concerned that you may act on thoughts of harming yourself or
someone else, go to your nearest emergency unit or contact one of the services below.

5. Enquiries and booking requests
5.1 The booking and contact forms on this site are for scheduling and general enquiries. They are not a
clinical channel and are not suitable for urgent matters.
5.2 Please give only the information the form asks for. Do not send clinical detail, a description of your
symptoms or sensitive personal information through the form or by email — neither is a secure
channel, and there is no need for that information before your first appointment.
5.3 Enquiries are responded to within two working days during office hours, Monday to Friday 09:00 –
17:00. A submitted request is not a confirmed appointment until the practice has confirmed it in
writing.
5.4 How information submitted through the site is handled is set out in our Privacy Notice.
6. Accuracy and availability of content
6.1 We take reasonable care to keep the content of this site current and accurate. Psychological
knowledge, professional guidance and the law change, and errors and omissions can occur. We
do not warrant that the content is complete, current or free of error.
6.2 We may add to, alter or remove content at any time, and we do not undertake to keep the site
continuously available.
7. Links to other websites
This site may link to websites we do not operate, including those of other practitioners, professional
bodies and support organisations. We provide those links for convenience, and we neither control nor
take responsibility for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. Please read the terms and privacy
notice of any site you visit.
8. Intellectual property
8.1 The text, images, layout and design of this site are owned by the practice or used under licence, and
are protected by the Copyright Act 98 of 1978.
8.2 You may read, print and share pages of this site for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any
other reproduction, adaptation, publication or commercial use requires our written permission.
8.3 Where third-party material appears on this site, it is used with permission or in reliance on the fair
dealing provisions of section 12 of the Copyright Act. If you believe your work has been used
without authority, please contact us and we will attend to it promptly.
9. Testimonials, reviews and third-party comment
9.1 The practice does not publish patient testimonials, and does not solicit them. This reflects both the
HPCSA’s rules on advertising and canvassing and the confidentiality owed to patients — a
testimonial identifies its author as a patient.
9.2 Reviews or comments about the practice that appear on third-party platforms are the views of their
authors. They are not published, endorsed or verified by the practice, and the practice cannot
respond to them in any detail without breaching confidentiality.
9.3 This site does not host public comments or user-generated content.
10. Liability
10.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of,
or inability to use, this website, or from reliance on its general content — including indirect or consequential
loss, loss of data, or loss caused by viruses or other harmful code transmitted through the site.
10.2 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes:
-
liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
-
liability for gross negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
-
any liability, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer
Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the National Health Act 61 of 2003; or
-
any professional liability arising from the clinical care of a patient. That relationship is
governed by the Service Agreement and Informed Consent and by the law and professional
standards applying to registered practitioners, and is not affected by these website terms.
11. Information you send us
Please do not send us confidential or proprietary material you do not wish us to hold, and please do not
send us information about a third party without their knowledge. Unsolicited material sent to the practice
will be dealt with in accordance with our Privacy Notice and, where clinically relevant, our professional
obligations.
12. Complaints
If you are unhappy with anything about this website or the practice, please tell us through the Contact
page of this website and we will respond within 10 working days. A complaint about professional conduct
may also be lodged with the Professional Board for Psychology, HPCSA, at complaints@hpcsa.co.za or
012 338 9300. A complaint about how your personal information has been handled may be lodged with
the Information Regulator (see our Privacy Notice).
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by South African law. Any dispute falls to be decided by the courts of the
Republic of South Africa, and you consent to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate’s Court for the district of
Cape Town in respect of any claim within that court’s jurisdiction.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
