Postpartum Support

For the months after birth, when the distance between how you expected to feel and how you actually feel is hardest to talk about.

How we approach it

Postpartum work makes room for the whole of it: the exhaustion, the anxiety, the intrusive thoughts, the ambivalence, and the guilt that so often follows admitting any of it out loud.

Alongside individual sessions, Teneal runs a group designed specifically for mothers. Groups run in short cycles through the year — contact her directly about the next one.

If you are having thoughts of harming yourself or your baby, please treat it as urgent: contact SADAG on 0800 567 567 or go to your nearest emergency room.

You might recognise

Anxiety that does not settle when the baby does

Intrusive thoughts that frighten you

Feeling detached from your baby, or from yourself

Rage, tearfulness, or numbness that seems out of proportion
