Before you book

If something isn't answered here, send us a message — we would rather answer it before your first session than during it.

  • Fifteen minutes to briefly understand what you are looking for, answer your questions, and check that the psychologist you are speaking to is the right fit. There is no cost and no obligation to book a session afterwards.

  • Therapy is a highly unique process. Many people start with 10 to 20 sessions, and several continue beyond that. We recommend starting weekly to increase effectiveness, but you and your therapist can talk about the best plan for you.

  • For most people, yes. Sessions run over a secure link from a private office space, so all you need is a reliable connection and a quiet space to talk. Some people prefer the consultation room, and you can move between the two.

  • Many plans cover psychological services provided by HPCSA members. We provide the invoice you need to submit your claim. Ask your provider what your plan covers, including whether you qualify for PMB — which may give you 15 fully covered sessions a year.

  • Appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance, or the full fee is charged. You can reschedule directly with your therapist.

  • We are bound by law to keep your information protected. Digital records are encrypted and strict cyber-security measures are followed at all times.

Still unsure

The introductory consultation exists for exactly this. Fifteen minutes, free, no obligation to book afterwards.

  • No. You are welcome to book a session directly if you already know what you are looking for. The consultation exists for people who would rather talk briefly before committing — it is not a required step, and availability for it varies between psychologists.
