Trauma-Sensitive Care

For recent trauma, and for older experiences that still intrude on the present.

How we approach it

Trauma work is paced deliberately. We begin with stability and safety — sleep, containment, day-to-day functioning — before approaching the experience itself, and we do not go faster than you can tolerate.

This includes single-incident trauma such as a hijacking, housebreaking, assault or accident, as well as longer-standing experiences from childhood. Your sense of safety sets the speed of the work, throughout.

All our psychologists work with trauma, and the pace is agreed with you rather than set in advance. Where a specialised trauma protocol would serve you better than the work we offer, we will say so at the introductory consultation and refer you to someone who provides it.
